Position Overview: The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for supporting the organization and streamlining of the marketing department, mentoring team members, and contributing to proactive, impactful strategies. Assist in developing and implementing high-level marketing initiatives to enhance AOC's visibility and impact, oversee branding and campaigns, and track key performance metrics. Ensure alignment across initiatives while managing daily operations to support leadership’s strategic priorities.
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to support AOC’s strategic objectives. Oversee the full marketing calendar to maintain a comprehensive understanding of all ongoing and upcoming activities, ensuring seamless execution and coordination.
Implement and maintain a project management system to improve workflows and ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively.
Lead the creation and implementation of multi-channel campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
Collaborate with the Director of Marcomm on long-term strategies to enhance audience engagement and member retention. Refine and optimize overarching marketing strategies to ensure they are cohesive, impactful, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Manage the department's daily operations, taking responsibility for timelines, deliverables, and execution, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic priorities. Oversee content production, including promotional materials, advertisements, and press releases.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and enhancing their contributions to the team.
Develop and implement forward-thinking campaigns and initiatives to shift the department from reactive to proactive marketing approaches.

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s or advanced degree/certification preferred).
7+ years of experience in marketing and communications within a membership-based or nonprofit organization
Expertise in digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, and project management.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in content management systems, email marketing platforms, and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
