This is a "hybrid" role. Selected candidate will work three days per week in the Arlington, VA office (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst, Governance Content helps address NACD members’ most pressing challenges by creating and delivering high-quality content that is professional, insightful, and relevant. This individual will research, write, and promote timely and practical guidance for the corporate board community on a range of governance issues including climate and sustainability and private company governance, utilizing strong project management skills. The Senior Analyst will use their growing content expertise to contribute to NACD’s member facing content on the website and its educational programming. This individual will also increase the impact of deliverables by providing internal trainings for NACD staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and creates high-quality short-form content for members (research papers, articles, etc.), in addition to longer-form content, such as handbooks.
Conducts primary and secondary research on corporate governance, business, regulatory and related issues of interest to NACD’s members: directors of public, private, and nonprofit boards.
Helps organize content for member committees covering climate and sustainability issues and private company governance.
Leads interviews with directors, including those at Fortune 500 organizations, and reviews relevant data and other secondary research to independently produce relevant content for members.
Converts thought leadership into engaging learning experiences for our membership, including virtual and in-person events.
Fully owns their content deliverables.
Engages with external stakeholders on co-branded publications and events.
Manages timelines and deliverables for content production, other core departmental activities, and larger projects and assignments as needed.
Supports NACD’s “digital first” approach by utilizing NACD’s content management system (CMS) for web-based content publication.
Collaborates across NACD departments--such as the partner, editorial, education/events teams, web, design, and marketing--to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Actively shapes the direction of ongoing research products and corresponding education; participates in and provides feedback during meetings on content planning.
Builds subject matter expertise in selected topic areas with the following responsibilities:
ensure consistency across all our channels in how we engage our members on specific topics
identify gaps in current content
Performs other duties as assigned.
NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends NACD director events and program/project planning meetings with NACD colleagues and our external content partners virtually, until normal business travel resumes
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, journalism, English, communications, political science, or another field with significant research work required. Experienced on climate and sustainability topics and/or private company governance topics. A minimum of four years of experience in research and/or content development desired. Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills; excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams/SharePoint; and demonstrated track record of prioritizing multiple work streams under deadline, with timely execution and resolution of action items.

NACD employees are required to be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus by their first day of employment. An employee is “fully vaccinated” two weeks after receiving their second dose of a two-dose vaccination series or two weeks after the first shot of a single-dose vaccine (or as described by the vaccine manufacturer).
The salary/hourly range for this position is $70,000-$75,000 plus bonus potential. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
