Reporting to the Director of Web Services, the Manager, Web Technology Operations is responsible for managing and supporting EDUCAUSE web technologies, including SaaS management and integration. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless delivery of various mission-critical user-facing online services of the organization. The successful candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, proficiency in technical analysis, experience in web services development and troubleshooting methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide instrumental technical leadership by closely collaborating with Conference and Event stakeholders to oversee event web and mobile technology operations, selection, implementation and QA/UAT.
Lead efforts to monitor and improve web quality standards and accessibility across the web ecosystem.
Conduct implementation requirements analysis, gathering, and validation for assigned operations to ensure continuous alignment between organizational business needs and IT.
Collaborate with solution partners, business owners, and team members to maintain assigned web service components, manage changes, triage issues, and minimize downtime and productivity loss.
Work with the Web Support Specialist to build event registration components.
Contribute to various web services improvement and feature development initiatives as assigned.
Create and maintain documentation related to requirements, user stories, testing scenarios, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Provide sites, pages and features development support as assigned
Association Service and Support
Represent EDUCAUSE in a professional manner at all times; engages with co-workers, volunteers, and members in a civil, caring, and respectful way.
Attend conferences/trainings and conduct industry research to establish thought leadership and bring new knowledge to the organization.
Supports members in a manner that facilitates their growth, engagement, and enhances their EDUCAUSE experience.
As a frontline user of EDUCAUSE systems and data services, complies with data quality standards; adheres to data governance policies, procedures, and processes for ensuring data integrity. May act as the application or data collection lead for the department.
Participate in EDUCAUSE events and activities as needed. Travel may be required to support EDUCAUSE conferences/events, research team operations, and external events relevant to the position.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/education/training
Minimum of three years’ experience of web application design and development
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated technical aptitude to learn and adapt new technologies
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to catch errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies
Exceptional in analytical and troubleshooting skills
Exceptional in providing customer service and ensuring a positive experience
Proven ability to capture, articulate and document expected service capabilities and technical requirements
Exceptional ability in time management, multitasking and meeting multiple deadlines
Demonstrated ability in following-through and carrying out tasks to their completion
Proficiency in front-end development technologies
Excellent capabilities with relational databases, including but not limited to SQL queries.
Working knowledge in JavaScript
Proficiency in CMS environments, preferably Sitecore
Knowledge in web and applications usability best practices
Knowledge in web and mobile device accessibility guidelines (ADA compliance, Section 508, WCAG 2.2)
Experience in Google Tag Manager, Google Analytic 4 and Google Ads Manager, preferred
Experience with IT Service Management, preferred
Experience with Project Management or Scrum
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Physical demands of travel such as sitting for long periods, handling luggage, time zone changes, and adjusting to new environments.
Remote Work Requirements
Scheduled working hours either in the employees time zone or EDUCAUSE core working hours or core working hours to be determined with the supervisor.
Be available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
Any time off or change in working hours must be pre-arranged according to department guidelines and consistent with the rules applicable to employment (e.g., vacation, sick, personal, leave of absence).
Travel Requirements:
Travel for this position is minimal (5% or less throughout the year)
