Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing strategies that provide opportunities for the Society and its existing and prospective partners (including sponsors and exhibitors), enhance the Society’s value proposition for its members and stakeholders, and support achievement of revenue targets. This role ensures seamless fulfillment of partner agreements, fosters strong partner relationships, and collaborates cross-functionally to maximize engagement. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Chief Membership and Marketing Officer (CMMO), as well as with other Society staff members, to ensure a cohesive approach to revenue growth, partner support, and strategic innovation, consistent with Society operating standards.
Strategy. Collaborate with CMMO to draft the Society’s annual partnership plan in alignment with overall organizational strategy. Utilize data insights to refine and enhance Society’s offerings and identify new engagement opportunities for partners, including sponsors and exhibitors.
New Partnership Development and Revenue Growth. Identify and cultivate relationships with new partners, including sponsors and exhibitors, that align with the Society’s value proposition and support achievement of revenue targets for the Society’s in-person conferences, virtual programs, chapter programs, content, and other offerings. Draft or respond to RFPs, develop and execute partnership agreements. Develop in-depth knowledge of partners’ offerings and how they align with Society members’ needs to make relevant recommendations.
Retention, Engagement and Activation. Develop and implement retention strategies to build positive relationships and strengthen long-term partnerships. Conduct regular strategy meetings with partners to discuss objectives and maximize ROI. Serve as primary relationship manager for partners, including sponsors and exhibitors, ensuring high level of satisfaction and benefit fulfillment. Support renewals and identify additional opportunities, and provide on-going fulfillment reports to all partners.
Partnership Fulfillment. Manage invoicing, asset collection (logos, descriptions, graphics/ads, etc. as needed), make introductions, and communicate information to internal team to facilitate related updates for website, communications, and other partnership and sponsorship deliverables.
Exhibition Sales and Fulfillment. In addition to the responsibilities above, manage and execute all other aspects of exhibition-related activities for the Society’s in-person national conferences (currently three per year), including exhibitor prioritization and outreach, contracts, booth layout and assignments, logistics (in collaboration with conference team), and on-site management.
Tracking and Reporting. Manage and maintain reports and dashboards that track status of partnership inventory, confirmed and potential revenue against plan, and partnership relationships. Provide regular reports to Society leadership.

Education and Experience
5+ years of experience in account management, event sponsorship sales, and business development.
Preferred experience working within the governance and/or legal fields.
Experience working in a non-for-profit member organization would be an
College degree in a business, marketing, or communications
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Technologically oriented.
Experience with customer relationship/membership management system is preferred.
Working Environment
We currently follow a hybrid work structure with three days in-office (NYC-based) and two days remote.
Some travel within the U.S. to attend and support conferences is required.
