Position Purpose: Key member of the clinical guidance documents team in the education department who supports daily operations and manages projects and committees in support of the development of evidence-based clinical guidance, including clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements, adhering to AACE–approved policies, processes, methodology, and timelines. Liaises with cross-functional internal teams, association volunteers/committees, and external stakeholders in support of association activities related to clinical guidance to improve endocrine care of patients.
What You Do
Serves as primary staff liaison to the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Oversight Committee and the Conflict of Interest (COI) Subcommittee and supports all administrative engagement; assists with other committees as necessary
Manages efficient operation of the CPG Oversight Committee, facilitating and ensuring timely and accurate internal and external communication, including but not limited to creating monthly agendas and weekly status reports, managing committee forms, onboarding members, scheduling and hosting meetings, empaneling task forces, reviewing clinical guidance documents, facilitating approvals of leadership, and creating invitations, minutes, and correspondence
Coordinates review of internal and external clinical guidance documents and topic nominations as liaison to CPG Oversight Committee and Disease State Network members
Administers and manages committee member disclosures in support of the COI Subcommittee, including collecting/preparing reports of confidential information for review by the COI Subcommittee, following up with nominated chairs and authors, and tracking disclosures/manageable COI during development of projects
Manages projects for development of clinical guidance documents, using Wrike to report status updates to relevant teams for all stages
Communicates with AACE staff, committee members, task force members, individual member volunteers, external partnering organizations, and others, preparing responses, comment letters, written reports of committee meetings and activities as needed
Facilitates timely and accurate communication with chairs, authors, and reviewers to support project leads and task forces that develop guidelines and consensus statements, including but not limited to empanelment, disclosures/COI, invitations, and meetings
Implements and manages member comment process for clinical guidance documents, including review and responses by task force chairs/authors, the CPG Oversight Committee, and external organizations as applicable
Liaises with other societies/groups/agencies as necessary for multi?stakeholder projects
Assists with production process of clinical guidance documents and liaises with journal regarding submission requirements, if needed
Manages references for manuscripts using Endnote as needed
Monitors content related to clinical guidance on AACE website and updates internal tracking documents
Organizes and maintains literature and supporting materials for the guideline development program to ensure consistency and ease of use by the guidelines team
Becomes knowledgeable and proficient in best practices for evidence-based guideline development, based on standards of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly Institute of Medicine) and the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations) approach
Maintains current knowledge of AACE policies and procedures for development of clinical guidance documents
Supports monthly evening conference calls
Minimal travel to in?person meetings as assigned (1-2 times per year)
