Job Description:
The Director, Member Outreach is an integral part of the membership department with significant membership outreach, engagement, and event responsibilities. The incumbent's role substantially contributes to the department's ability to achieve retention, recruitment, engagement and revenue targets each year. The incumbent, working under the direction of the Vice President, Member Outreach, will manage ABA Speakers Bureau, ABA Expert Webinar program, membership presence at ABA’s school, targeted outreach campaigns, membership events, and programs focused on creating stronger connectivity with ABA's membership base.
Key Responsibilities:
Engagement Initiatives Programs
Goal: Create stronger awareness of ABA (who we are, why we matter, and our value proposition) among both members and nonmembers. Increase and enhance engagement of ABA members to achieve retention and recruitment goals.
Manage a membership presence at ABA schools that promotes member engagement and garners membership leads. This includes working with school coordinators to secure presentation spots during the planning stages of the program, delivering the presentation, and executing a campaign to further engage with the students after the event. This program requires public speaking and travel.
Manage ABA's Speakers' Bureau Program. This program places approximately 150 speakers annually. The incumbent will develop and deploy a strategic upgrade to the program to enhance connectivity to the membership team goals, while ensuring sustainable growth for the program. The incumbent will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, which includes coordinating with the requesting organization or bank, working with the ABA speaker, preparing a briefing and sending a follow up survey. This program requires strong attention to detail, people skills and organization.
Identify opportunities to increase ABA's presence and exposure to enhance engagement, which includes proactively seeking new opportunities within ABA and at other industry events.
Serve as the primary point person and manager for member and nonmember outreach events across the country. The incumbent will coordinate with the Vice President, Member Outreach, to strategically prioritize the value of outreach events and then execute on securing venues, menu, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, creating badges, tracking data in Nimble, creating and vetting the briefing document, and managing the thank you/follow up process.

Webinars
Goal: Showcase ABA’ expertise, connect with new contacts at banks and increase awareness of ABA overall.
Manage the Member Benefit Webinar program. Through this initiative, the incumbent creates and delivers interactive webinars to members to increase member return on investment and executes a campaign with attendees following the event to continue to increase their engagement.
Manage the Expert Webinar program. This program delivers content to thousands of bankers annually, and the incumbent is responsible for sourcing the webinar topics, coordinating with experts, delivering remarks, and ensuring every aspect of the program is executed flawlessly. The incumbent will also be responsible for follow-up campaigns to ensure attendees continue to engage with ABA.
Lead efforts to ensure that all complimentary ABA webinars are well coordinated and have a portion of the programming dedicated to promoting the ABA value proposition. This will require presenting ABA’s value proposition on a multitude of programs throughout the year.
Serve as a lead in navigating opportunities for further engagement with complimentary webinar attendees. This will require the incumbent to become proficient in On24 and its technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
6+ years of experience focused on member engagement, client relationship management or similar roles that incorporate building relationships with members/clients and developing campaigns, strategies or programs to engage them.
Professional public speaking ability; ability to deliver engaging presentations and comfortably speak in front of audiences of varying sizes.
Excellent communication and comprehension skills, both written and oral; ability to communicate with C-level executives.
Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills.
Self-motivation with the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to be comfortable and adept at interacting with a group of people in a social setting, often at an event or conference, engaging them in conversation, and creating a positive impression.
Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience in membership relations/sales at a trade association or elsewhere preferred.
Experience in webinar management, specifically On24 preferred.
Experience with Nimble or Salesforce preferred.
Experience in event planning and marketing preferred.
Ability to travel <20%.
Target Salary Range: $105,000 - $112,000
Salary Band Range:
$81,848.00 - $108,470.00 - $135,093.00
