The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) is an international credentialing body whose mission is to serve the global public interest by advancing professional practice in lactation consultation and support through credentialing. IBLCE, a global organization, was established in 1985 and there are now 37,000 IBCLCs in 134 countries.
IBLCE is looking for a Senior Brand & Communications Manager to join our team. This individual will manage brands, content strategies, digital communications (inclusive of video editing using a user-friendly platform), design and oversight of websites, e-newsletters, briefings, etc. of IBLCE, a global nonprofit credentialing organization and its affiliates. The Sr. Manager will report to the Senior Director of Global Certification Operations, and the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, digital and social media strategies, enhancing the organization’s social media presence, and keeping IBLCE and its affiliates websites’ design and content current, creating promotional, collateral and conference/exhibit materials, to serve stakeholders in an effective and in a timely manner.

Duties, Responsibilities and Related Experience:
Key duties include formulating strategies to build and sustain IBLCE’s brand, manage communications and messaging strategies, and develop and implement social media strategies to enhance target-audience participation. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will collaborate with other team members to maintain a Communications calendar and enhance the organization’s social presence and develop print materials as well as edit video content. The Sr. Manager will manage and oversee the communication strategies and websites of the organization and its affiliates – the IBCLC Commission, MILCC and The Centre for Global Lactation Training (GCLT)™ (The Centre).
The role requires experience in developing digital, print and promotional communication strategies from concept to completion, including developing materials in different formats and mediums. Demonstrated experience in quality control, editing and vendor management is also required, together with data analysis and metrics reporting. Cross-departmental strong project management experience is strongly preferred.
This is a supervisory role which includes one direct report, the Senior Communication & Certification Coordinator.
Qualifications:
College degree, with at least five years of relevant experience.
Strategic thinking, proactiveness and critical thinking.
Demonstrated effective response to emergent issues.
Superior project management skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with social media platforms and Constant Contact and keen interest in learning new tools.
Experience managing and tracking marketing and promotional budget and expenses.
Experience developing and implementing social media strategies to engage target audiences, create awareness and validate a brand.
Proven, tactful and professional interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to work with individuals from broad geographical and cultural backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with sensitivity to cultural and geographical differences.
Familiarity with the issues impacting certification communication is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills inclusive of organizational internal customers.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
Well-developed ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively and professionally; adapt to change; prioritize shifting opportunities; handle challenges with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills include previous experience in nonprofits, associations and/or credentialing programs, communications experience in international settings as well as experience working with individuals from broad geographical and cultural backgrounds.
Location:
The position is located in Fairfax, VA, and is currently a hybrid position with 1-2 days of work in-office. Candidate should indicate their experience with remote work. Candidates will need to reside within the DMV area to be eligible for the position.
