DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Sr. Specialist, Digital Content & Email
LOCATION: Remote in the United States
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Working collaboratively across the organization and with outside stakeholders, this position executes and supports a variety of communications, marketing and media relations tactics to support ACR events, initiatives, programs, and product offerings. The individual in the position is a member of the creative team and project manager who can manage a variety of elements of creative projects and campaigns from beginning to end. The individual in this position is detail-oriented, with exceptional writing skills, an interest in science and healthcare, and the ability to translate complex topics into simple language.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Traffic
Manage daily workflows for marketing and communications projects and requests as well as key ongoing deliverables using Asana project management system and the online JIRA system along with conventional methods.
Collaborate with all relevant functions/departments to facilitate seamless, timely, and efficient project execution for all cross-functional marketing/creative requests (including email, print, web, social media, PR, events, etc.).
Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for communications for the larger Marcomm Department to follow.
Develop and maintain proper timelines and approval streams for all projects, ensuring each project is completed on schedule.
Serve as a liaison between ACR stakeholders/departments and the Communications & Marketing team, which requires exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Serve as a centralized communications point of contact on projects and ensure that all team members receive timely and appropriate information.
Follow up on the metrics and measure the effectiveness of all marketing and communications efforts to help guide future strategy.
Marketing and Communications
Serve as a generalist for the larger Marcomm team: participate in strategy meetings, execute marketing, public relations and communications plans, draft copy, proofread, organize work for designers, technical project leads, videographers or photographers, and social media specialists.
Generate and maintain a deep knowledge of the College and its functions, including programs, products, services, and internal processes.
Ensure that all aspects of a marketing and communications effort are well coordinated, and key components are included if appropriate.
Provide communications support for select amount ACR programs, products, and services.
Public Relations
Execute a variety of media relations tactics including managing the press registration process for the annual meeting, supporting press slate selection, overseeing press release development with freelance talent, and managing the digital press center.
Other
Travel around 10% or less, including but not limited to the ACR Annual Meeting and staff retreat, may be required.
Any other duties as the Sr. Specialist, Digital Content & Email, and/or the Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Communications & Publishing may assign.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/ BS plus three (3) years’ experience in a communications, marketing, public relations setting, or related field, or more than five (5) years’ experience with no post-secondary degree.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time
Ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a variety of individuals, including members, volunteers and staff
Team player and self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines, strong project management skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and exercise judgment in handling responsibilities and managing multiple projects
Strong working knowledge of AP Style
Project management skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes and opportunities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment are a must
The ability to understand and summarize complex ideas and materials for general readers, editors, and reporters
Association, healthcare, and/or agency experience is preferable
