Position Overview:
AIAA seeks a Project Manager / Business Analyst to play a critical role in identifying and documenting system requirements, leading IT implementation projects, and developing innovative business solutions aligning with organizational objectives.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Project Manager/Business Analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and document business needs, lead enterprise software implementations to desired outcomes, and take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to complex business challenges.The role will assume primary responsibility for supporting, maintaining, and implementing existing and new IT solutions.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, in-the-weeds solution developer who thrives on optimizing business processes and driving successful IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent research to become intimately familiar with stakeholder operations.
Work with stakeholders to gather detailed knowledge about their requirements and desired outcomes.
Perform thorough requirements analysis process to understand business needs, goals, and objectives.
Develop detailed gap analysis and recommend enhancements to existing software solutions or new software acquisitions within budget constraints.
Create a requirements matrix to document all requirements for stakeholder buy-in.
Work with stakeholders to develop new business processes that align with system capabilities.
Create business process specifications that include the end-user (staff, customer, member, volunteer, etc.) experience and extend to back-office management/administration.
Create user stories, use cases, and test criteria for agreed upon requirements.
Address any necessary system integrations from an application and service perspective and update technical and process documentation accordingly.
Collaborate with stakeholders, IT team members, and solution providers to document and evaluate customizations to meet unique business needs.
Translate user stories and business needs into implementation specification documentation – Functional Specification, Implementation Guide, and Technical Specification.
Lead project teams across departments to manage scope, identify risks, determine budget, and develop timelines that meet business needs.
Track project progress and mitigate issues through appropriate escalation channels as needed.
Create visualizations of solution architectures in a diagram format indicating integration points, data mapping requirements, etc.
Monitor system operations and ensure documented processes and procedures are followed for sanctioned solutions.
Manage integration platform systems (IPaaS) and business process automation tools to maintain or enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity across integrated platforms.
Review and validate vendor statements of work (SOWs) and ensure performance meets business objectives and budgets.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience with complex technical systems.
5+ years of experience working with Associations, Non-Profits, or other member-based organizations.
5+ years creating detailed business documentation to support planned enterprise software implementations.
5+ years conducting thorough discovery and gap analysis engagements.
Solid understanding of AMS / CRM / ERP systems and subsystems.
General familiarity and experience with software integration and APIs.
Passion for excellence in user experience.
Creative and analytical thinking.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and complex tasks simultaneously.
Ability to translate highly-technical concepts into plain language for non-technical stakeholders.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus.
