WHAT YOU’LL DO As the Chief Operating Officer, you will:
Ensures alignment of all divisions and departments of the Association with the Strategic Plan, including oversight of the Operational Plan.
Maintains a key performance metrics dashboard which supports data-driven decision making.
Coordinates the work of the Association’s project management office.
Holds accountable all staff to productivity and customer service expectations.
Establishes an internal plan for executing a rapid growth strategy.
Provides support for select APhA member communities.
Provides strategic insights and support for APhA’s advocacy agenda.
Collaborates across the organization to grow APhA’s financial position to better support the membership.
Ensures consistency in branding and messaging across the organization.
Provides support/backup to the CEO for these relationships.
Ensures decision-making throughout the organization in support of a member-first culture.
Works with the CEO and CFO to assign personnel resources consistent with the budget to best support the Association’s growth strategy.
Serves on the Executive Council of the CEO and leads the Senior Leadership Team.
Ensure that quality methods, process improvement tools, change management techniques, complex analytics and project management discipline is utilized to maximize the likelihood of success.
Validate project results and recognize team achievements
Provide stewardship and oversight include evaluating and reporting team successes, problem-solving to enhance team and process effectiveness and support their effectiveness.?
Ensures a positive and optimal member experience.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR APhA may be the right fit for you have:
Experience and Education required:
A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school or college of pharmacy. A master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or other relevant field of study (ie. MS, MPH, MIE) is preferred.
A valid and active license to practice pharmacy in the U.S. or its territories.
A minimum of 15 years of progressively complex oversight of large scale operational, strategic, and financial enterprises.
Experience in growing a dynamic, quality and productivity driven organization and a demonstrated track record of creatively developing new approaches to improve productivity and customer service.
Skills, knowledge and abilities are required:
Either staff or elected leadership experience in a non-profit organization.
Demonstrated evidence of operational leadership in growth of a complex organization.
Adept at partnering with the Chief Financial Officer and CEO to meet the financial goals of an organization.
Evidence of utilizing change management principles to position an organization for rapid growth.
Creates a service-oriented culture that thrives on a disciplined approach to identifying objectives, prioritize and accomplishing them with efficiency and timeliness.
Proven strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives, leveraging analytical skills to anticipate trends and drive innovative solutions.
Exercises management practices which result in operations within allocated budgets.
Possesses a demonstrated ability to develop, mentor and recruit a talented management team.
An effective systems thinker who understands the value of effective systems, policies, and procedures with patient satisfaction as a driver.
