The American Society of Nephrology (ASN)—representing more than 22,000 physicians, researchers, nurses, and other health professionals dedicated to leading the fight against kidney diseases—seeks a full-time Accreditation Manager. Reporting to the Associate Director, Accreditation and Evaluation, the Manager is responsible for maintaining ASN’s compliance with continuing education (CE) joint accreditation requirements and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) criteria.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain compliance with Joint Accreditation and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) criteria for ASN educational activities.
Serve as primary staff contact for CE/MOC organizations.
Keep abreast of changes in Joint Accreditation and ABIM policies, interpret joint accreditation regulations, and oversee the training of staff and committee members concerning activity development and implementation to ensure compliance with CME, CNE, CPE, and ABIM.
Prepare ASN’s Self Study Report, Performance-in-Practice Review, and Accreditation Interview.
Oversee CE/MOC credit amounts for educational activities.
Review completed evaluations, post-tests, and reports related to CE/MOC documenting the program’s outcomes and accomplishments.
Oversee creation and management of activity files and contribute to grant applications in compliance with joint accreditation requirements and ASN practices and policies.
Provide input to ensure the educational needs of the target audience are identified and linked to objectives, content, and outcomes, and that evaluation tools are developed during the planning process.
Ensure activities are closed in PARS in a timely manner, including submitting final activity reports.
Establish records/activities in JA-PARS and collaborate with Learning Management System Administrator to ensure systems are configured, set up, and tested to enable proper credit claiming.
Manage the relationship between ASN and ABIM to record MOC points for ASN learners.
Track and submit CPE contact hours to ACPE Monitor.
Create and maintain CE standard operating procedures and policies.
Provide support for other educational activities as needed.
Assume other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position and area.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree.
At least five years of working in CE and MOC with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Accreditation Criteria, including the Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education; the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award and Credit System for Continuing Medical Education (CME); and the ABIM MOC Program.
Proficiency in using technology to organize and execute projects (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and databases).
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Desired:
Knowledge of Joint Accreditation.
Experience working with volunteer leaders, particularly physicians.
This position is based in Washington, DC, where we employ a hybrid work environment (80 days per year in the office required).
