About AMT
Founded in 1939, American Medical Technologists (AMT) is a global, member-led, allied health certification organization promoting and supporting our member certificants. AMT is nationally and internationally recognized for 12 allied health profession disciplines including: medical laboratory scientists, medical assistants, dental assistants, allied health instructors, molecular diagnostics technologists, medical laboratory technicians, medical laboratory assistants, medical administrative specialists, phlebotomy technicians, patient care technicians, and laboratory consultants.
AMT’s purpose is to protect public welfare by maintaining competency standards in these occupations. AMT’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan focuses our efforts on five main themes: maintaining the highest certification standards, maintaining recognized and preferred credentials for our members, supporting our members in their careers by ensuring their proficiency and competency in their given disciplines, and lastly, ensuring our fiscal, governance, and operational stability and vitality. AMT is a 501(c)6 organization with an annual revenue of $10M with a staff of 50.
