Job Summary

College Advising Roles and Responsibilities
- Meet one-on-one, either in-person or virtually, with students and their parents and guide them through the college admissions process
- Create individualized student plans with regards to high school coursework, extracurricular activities, test scheduling, college visits, etc.
- Review college essays, college applications, summer program applications, scholarship applications, etc.
- Help students create college lists and find best fit schools for them
- Keep students organized and on task, and help ease parents’ stress
- Prepare students for interviews and meetings with admissions officers
Business Development Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify networking opportunities and attend networking events
- Give seminars and presentations at schools, college fairs, meetings, etc.
- Identify and foster relationships with high school counselors, tutors, and other business professionals
- Build business in your area
Hours:
This is a full-time position. While the office hours are flexible and non-traditional, please note that as you will be working with students and their parents, advisors must be able to meet when they are available: afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Cover Letter. Like a great college essay, an effective cover letter should help us get to know who you really are. No candidates will be considered without a cover letter.
- Minimum of five years experience in college admissions, admissions at a university, high school college counseling, and/or independent college advising
- Exceptional writing skills
- Superior verbal skills. Must be able to communicate with students, parents, colleges and other professionals.
- Be self-motivated, self-driven, and have an entrepreneurial spirit
- Be detail-oriented, have strong follow-up skills, and work well under pressure
- Able to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student and parent population
- Strong work ethic and desire to be part of a team
