We are the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and our team is a leader as a nationally recognized professional certification organization. We offer more than a dozen specialized certifications positively impacting fire protection, transportation, construction materials testing, and much more. As a part of the NICET team, you will help us deliver highly acclaimed career track certification for engineering technicians to advance in their profession. Your contributions will help support and elevate NICET in providing excellent qualifications that are relied upon by government entities, authorities, employers, and contract specifiers. NICET is a vibrant division of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), based in Old Town Alexandria, VA.

As our Certification Evaluator you’ll consistently and precisely analyze and evaluate Level I and II certification candidates’ work experience documents and credentials against established certification criteria, NICET Policies, Code of Ethics and internal guidelines, and recognize when to defer to senior staff members for direction in resolving complicated certification matters. You will also Promote NICET’s image and programs through the effective provision of superior customer service.

Things we would like you to bring to our NICET team…
You would have completed an associate’s degree in engineering technology, or engineering and two to five years’ experience working in one or more engineering technology fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with technical writing and/or the preparation of technical documents would be strengths that you enjoy implementing for our team. I would also be great if you had experience working with technical/professional credentialing or licensing.
We’d also need you to have strong organizational skills to work effectively in a team setting.
As our NICET Certification Evaluator, you’d use your strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 products including Teams, Outlook email and calendar, database software, item authoring, and banking applications.
Things you will be contributing and doing as our NICET Certification Evaluator…
You will professionally assist customers in the resolution of work experience evaluation matters. You will also routinely and competently satisfy customer needs regarding various certification status queries and issues using electronic and telephonic mediums. Maintain appropriate records of customer interactions, queries, and candidate documentation and certification activities. Implement quality control measures and maintain accurate activity/productivity reports as required.
As our newest team member, you will have the opportunity to assist with the development of new and maintenance of existing evaluation services department processes, forms, and procedures.
