Overview
Sigma Nursing (Sigma) is a global nonprofit dedicated to developing nurse leaders to improve healthcare everywhere. As we invest in the future of our organization—including major strategic initiatives, technology upgrades, and member experience innovations—we are hiring our first internal operations Project Manager to help bring our vision to life.
This is not a typical task-tracking role. As Sigma’s Project Manager, you’ll serve as a strategic partner across the organization, working alongside executive leadership to ensure our most critical initiatives are well-defined, well-resourced, and successfully delivered. You’ll coach teams on effective project design, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and manage complex timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships—all while fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement. If you enjoy bringing structure to creativity, clarity to complexity, and results to strategy, we want to meet you.
A Day in the Life
On any given day, you might be building out a new workflow for a cross-departmental tech rollout, advising team leads on scoping a high-impact member engagement project, or syncing with a vendor to keep deliverables on track. You’ll move between strategic conversations with our CEO, operational check-ins with teams from education to marketing to IT, and moments of quiet focus where you document milestones, monitor timelines, or guide teams toward better use of project management tools.
In your first few months, you’ll get up to speed on Sigma’s strategic priorities, meet the key players across departments, and begin shaping a unified system for project tracking and transparency. From there, you’ll help drive transformational projects—including a complete tech stack modernization, a strategic refresh of our member value proposition, and new professional development opportunities—bringing clarity and coordination to what may initially feel like a whirlwind of progress.
You Would Thrive in This Position If...
You’re a certified PMP (or have equivalent experience) with a strong grasp of both waterfall and agile project methodologies.
You’re not intimidated by complexity—you break it down, build clarity, and move people forward.
You naturally ask strategic questions like “Why this project, why now?” and aren’t afraid to coach teams on feasibility, scope, and sequencing.
You’ve successfully led cross-functional teams and managed external vendors and consultants.
You’re equally comfortable using project tools, managing budgets, and building trust across a fully remote workforce.
You thrive in dynamic environments and know how to balance quick wins with long-term transformation.
You bring curiosity, humility, and just enough grit to help a passionate, mission-driven team turn big ideas into reality—on time and on budget.
Why Sigma?
We are a values-driven organization focused on leadership, scholarship, and service, supporting more than 100,000 members across 600+ chapters in 40+ countries. As we evolve to meet the changing needs of our members and the nursing profession, this is a unique opportunity to shape the systems and structures that power a truly global nonprofit. We offer a generous benefits package, remote-first flexibility, a collaborative culture, and the chance to be part of a team that’s improving healthcare worldwide.
