ISFA CEO
Position Overview:
The ISFA CEO is experienced in association development, member building and engagement. This position is tasked with leading the board and staff to leverage their strengths to ensure an infrastructure that will allow the organization to continue to grow.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will have primary responsibility for all aspects of association leadership, finance, HR, member building and engagement, board development and will oversee a strong team in support of the plan.
Strategic Leadership
Oversee and lead strategic planning processes and seek support from the Board.
Support the execution of the strategic plan with annual work plans for each staff member that align with the strategic plan.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends affecting the surfacing community and secure productive and collaborative relationships in the industry.
Organizational Management
Ensure robust recruiting, hiring, performance management, professional development, and compliance.
Ensure that the organization operates in compliance with all statutes governing a 501(c)6 organization.
Responsible for the staffing structure and effective allocation of human resources and partnerships.
External Relations & Community Building
Serve as the chief spokesperson for ISFA and advocate for its mission and goals at all events and functions.
Oversee communication of our vision to the members and potential members in the surfacing community.
Explore and build relationships with surfacing industry stakeholders to forge new opportunities and partnerships.
Financial Management
Prepare the annual budget in partnership with the treasurer.
Oversee staff responsible for internal accounting controls and financial practices to ensure fiscally sound and accurate accounting, record keeping and reporting systems including insurance, taxes and other fiscal obligations.
Ensure that operations are within budget guidelines.
Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports to the board and staff
Oversee contract management for all financial commitments and funding allocations.
Organizational Development
Create and foster a team-oriented work environment with the goal of generating a creative, energized and mission-driven staff.
Provide clear, unique job responsibilities to staff to limit duplication of efforts and support the strategic plan. Regularly evaluate and allocate staffing resources for most effective and efficient operations.
Clearly define measurable goals and results-oriented performance expectations, in cooperation with employees.
Model professionalism, decisive leadership, effective communication, and creative problem solving.
Member Development
As a key part of the strategic plan, develop a clear vision of the ISFA brand and proposition to members supported by key benefits to them.
Develop a robust fabricator member growth and engagement strategy with key tactics to support measurable goals.
Lead the associate partner sponsorship initiative to secure their investment in our efforts to serve the surfacing industry.
Oversee communications to members to ensure tone directly supports the association strategy and voice.
Board Partnership and Support
Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and facilitate the Board's involvement in member growth and engagement, strategic planning, and financial management.
Communicate effectively with the Board about all aspects of the organization, including financial status.
Assist the Board of Directors in Board development and the ongoing identification and recruitment of new members from the diverse surfacing community.
Work in partnership with the board to ensure the organization has all the appropriate policies and procedures in place and that the board is evolving into a governance board.
In partnership with the board of directors, provide partnership in onboarding, orientation and board development and recruiting.
Advocacy
Champion the interests of fabricators across the surfaces industry as the organization’s lead advocate.
Represent fabricators in industry coalitions, meetings, and events to ensure their perspectives are heard and valued.
Develop and execute a comprehensive advocacy strategy in collaboration with the Board of Directors and key staff.
Qualifications
Significant professional experience, with senior leadership experience in a nonprofit organization, including strategic planning and implementation.
Direct experience with strategic planning and execution, organizational development, board development, finance, fundraising, human resources and communications.
Demonstrated success serving as an energetic, collaborative and persuasive external face of and organization and successful track record elevating the reputation of an organization.
Strong financial and operational management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, facilities, and human resource management
Terrific organizational skills and leadership of cross-functional teams
Proven communication skills, including speaking, writing, meeting facilitation, and consensus building.
Demonstrated success building strong partnerships externally and internally.
Ability to work independently (self-starter) and among small teams
Demonstrated leadership that engages and inspires staff for focused collaboration.
Ability to balance the desire for collaboration with the need for efficient and effective business practices.
Ability to maximize the effective use of technology and experience with a variety of software programs such as Microsoft Office suite, accounting software (QuickBooks), and database programs.
