The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) is seeking an Education Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating educational programming that serves the Society’s global mission. This includes the ISHLT Annual Meeting, Pre-Conference Day, regional programs, virtual webinars, and collaborations with other professional societies. Reporting to the Director of Education and Research, you’ll help shape innovative and inclusive learning experiences that align with ISHLT’s strategic priorities.
ISHLT is the world’s largest organization dedicated to improving care for patients with advanced heart or lung disease through transplantation, mechanical support, and innovative therapies. Our international members represent over 15 medical, scientific, and allied health disciplines. Together, we advance global, multidisciplinary education, research, and advocacy. Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to:
Summary Support the development and delivery of educational programs aligned with ISHLT’s mission and strategy. Collaborate with volunteers and staff to design content and evaluate outcomes and manage key relationships with faculty, volunteers, and external partners.
Educational programming includes:
Annual Meeting & Pre-Conference Day Events
Oversee education elements of the ISHLT Annual Meeting
Manage the programming of Pre-Conference Day Events such as hands-on surgical simulation training
Support abstract management and mobile app content as part of the education team
Regional In-Person Events and Virtual Learning
Help deliver education for in-person regional meetings around the world (outside the United States) and partner programs, including faculty coordination
Plan and produce webinars in collaboration with ISHLT communities and task forces
Develop infrastructure to support innovative and scalable education models
Additional duties include:
Operations
Manage education-related vendors and platforms (e.g., CTI/OASIS)
Stay up to date on relevant accreditation standards (e.g., ACCME)
Contribute to departmental strategy and cross-functional projects

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, nonprofit management, or related field a plus
Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit education, preferably in a global or healthcare -related setting
Experience managing in-person and virtual education programs and supporting volunteer-led efforts
Familiarity with abstract management systems (OASIS/CTI preferred) and webinar platforms
Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to make objective decisions using sound judgment
Commitment to innovation, inclusion, and service excellence
Ability to travel 2-4 times per year
