THE POSITION
We are actively seeking a Managing Editor for ISPOR’s HEOR news magazine.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As the Managing Editor, you are responsible for writing, soliciting, editing, and posting content for ISPOR’s HEOR news magazine, Value & Outcomes Spotlight, and the HEOR News Brief. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Director, Publications, the Director, Health Policy, and the editors to develop, curate, and publish content that aligns with the Society’s strategic objectives and promotes the understanding and application of HEOR to the broader healthcare audience.
ISPOR’s portfolio of publications includes 2 peer-reviewed journals (Value in Health and Value in Health Regional Issues), 1 digital HEOR news magazine (Value & Outcomes Spotlight), and an e-newsletter (HEOR News Brief). The collective goal of these publications is to further the Society’s mission and strategic vision by promoting the application and understanding of HEOR around the world.

Value & Outcomes Spotlight
Develop content that contributes to the publication’s goal of amplifying the impact of HEOR to a broad healthcare audience
Write feature articles, columns, and news stories that are impactful and accessible to a diverse healthcare audience
Solicit, edit, proofread, and post content for publication
Collaborate with the Editors, authors/writers, and ISPOR staff to develop annual content calendars and to implement editorial strategy
HEOR News Desk
Research, curate, and edit news from a variety of global news sources to keep readers up to date on developments in the field
Create regular email promotions (HEOR News Brief) that also serve to drive traffic to the HEOR News Desk microsite
Identify new ISPOR content to be featured in the HEOR News Desk and HEORNews Brief
Review and analyze key performance metrics of website and email marketing and make recommendations based on insights
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or related field
3-5 years of experience in healthcare or life sciences journalism, with proven track record of working with high-performing editorial teams
Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills, with ability to juggle multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Knowledge of AMA style
Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry, including key stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry trends
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Keen eye for detail and commitment to editorial excellence
OUR LOCATION
ISPOR’s headquarters is in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, which is halfway between Philadelphia and New York City. Our staff works in a hybrid arrangement: on-site two designated days per week, however this position is remote-eligible for the right candidate.
