Position Summary:
ASAE Business Services, Inc. (ABSI), the wholly owned subsidiary of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Director of Business Services to lead the development and expansion of new business lines, with a particular focus on Association Career Headquarters (ACHQ), ABSI’s career center. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, revenue growth, and value creation for the association community through strategic partnerships, product development, and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities aligned with ABSI’s mission and growth strategy. - Lead market research and competitive analysis to inform product development and positioning. - Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new business lines, including ACHQ and other emerging services.
ACHQ Program Leadership
- Serve as the primary business lead for ACHQ, overseeing its strategic direction, partner relationships, and performance metrics. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance ACHQ’s value proposition and market reach. - Monitor industry trends in careers and workforce to ensure ACHQ remains competitive and innovative.
Partnership and Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with vendors, service providers, and association leaders. - Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring alignment with ABSI’s goals and compliance standards. - Represent ABSI at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings to promote business services and thought leadership.
Operational Oversight and Performance Management
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards for assigned business lines. - Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track progress and inform decision-making. - Collaborate with marketing, finance, legal, and other internal teams to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred. - 7+ years of experience in business development, product management, or strategic partnerships, preferably in the association, nonprofit, or fintech sectors. - Demonstrated success in launching and scaling new business lines or services. - Strong understanding of job boards, career resources, skill development tools, and business models. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. - Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and delivering value to mission-driven organizations.
