Job Summary:
The Director of Strategic Development and Membership is a full-time, primarily in-person, position. The director is responsible for overseeing the membership lifecycle, including recruitment, retention and engagement.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment
Implement tactical efforts and strategies to ensure annual membership growth.
Identify membership prospects and potential NMA partners through research, initial contact and pursuit of alignment with NMA priorities and values.
Coordinate weekly initial meetings with prospects.
Engage with CEO and NMA team to help follow up on prospects.
Draft membership proposals, marketing materials and strategies and administer the application process.
Onboard new members and integrate them into the association structure.
Track and report on membership growth and member utilization of NMA offerings to the extent possible.
Retention
Maintain open communication with members and act as front-line contact.
Cultivate relationships with mining industry leaders and key stakeholders to support association membership growth and referrals.
Assist in the renewal process by drafting initial and follow-up communications and other outreach as needed.
Serve as a key representative of NMA at industry events, NMA events, conferences and meetings.
Assist in the development and delivery of member programming.
Track and report on member engagement across NMA’s platforms and committees.
Other Membership Activity
Assist membership team in maintaining and expanding the AMS system to enhance benefits for both members and NMA staff.
Lead the membership team in developing procedures and reports for tracking the department’s key performance indicators.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time???
The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) less than 15 lbs.???
This position requires the ability to spend most of the time viewing computer monitors.??
