In this role you will work closely with the Director of Programs and the various Program Managers to ensure success.
What will you do?
Program support
Provide excellent customer service to partners, participants, educators, students, etc.
Work with the Program Manager and Director of Programs to produce annual Future City program materials (i.e., write and edit program handbook and curriculum, brochures, competition materials, resources and more)
Assist with program updates and maintain online presence, including Future City website, and the Future City registration databases (CMS)
Contribute to internal reports by gathering and analyzing statistics on program effectiveness, status, and results
Lead the editing and production of the Future City middle and high school handbook (HB), working with staff to update the material and serve as primary contact with the designer to develop the HB
Coordinate all aspects of the DiscoverE Outreach Grants and work with Program Manager to build reports and analyze impact
Work with the Middle School Program Manager to support the 40+ volunteers of the Regional Coordinator network, including but not limited to:
attending monthly calls and meetings
updating and developing support documents
serve alongside Middle School Program Manager as regional competitions set up and day of support (remote in January)
Assists Program Manager with DiscoverE.org updates, including maintaining site schedule, uploading and managing Activities Updates
Draft activities blog posts for DiscoverE Blog
Serve as an ambassador for Future City and DiscoverE and build rapport with program participants and stakeholders, including educators, parents, volunteers, and funders
other duties as needed
Event support
Manage all aspects of Future City Special Awards (Middle & High School), including sponsor outreach, invoicing, judge coordination, onsite execution, social media, and regional award shipments and fund distribution.
Assist with the annual Future City registration process, including updating online registration portal, uploading data to Salesforce and producing badge reports for the print house
Logistics support for teams attending finals
Provide vendor and supply management support as required
Serve as onsite event staff support for Future City Finals and Regional Coordinator Retreat, assisting in all aspects of planning, ordering supplies, set-up, execution and closing out of events, etc.
Attend and support preparation for the DiscoverE Coalition meeting (annually in December)
Contribute to internal Finals reports by gathering and analyzing statistics on program effectiveness, status, and results - and making recommendations for improvements
Represent the program and DiscoverE at events, including Future City Finals, Regional Coordinators Retreat and DiscoverE Annual Meeting
Operations and Administrative
Manage organization email inboxes
Resource/ Assets Management for all DiscoverE programs, including photos and video marketing content in Lightroom
Develop and implement procedures to maintain the integrity of the Salesforce database, including internal documentation, data validation, contact updates, and collaboration with Marketing Manager to clean and manage records and reports.
Serve as the secondary support for Salesforce system management
Manage online Store orders, metrics tracking and work with the Marketing Manager to build a plan and market sales to the store.
Monitor and approve website comments
Social Media Support working in Status Brew with Marketing Manager to draft, implement and execute various social media campaigns and posts
Assist Program Manager with DiscoverE.org updates, including maintaining site schedule, uploading and managing activities updates
Work with Future City Program Managers to develop competition management system (CMS) materials and processes for volunteer leadership and staff to maintain platform integrity and ease of use
Serve as secondary support role for Middle and High School CMS platforms

This is a remote position; however, preference will be given to candidates located in or near Washington DC area to facilitate team collaboration and in-person event support.
Occasional travel and the willingness to work weekends during specific events. (Anticipated travel includes the five-day Finals event in Washington, DC in February; Saturday-Wednesday, including Presidents Day) and a three-day Regional Coordinator retreat (Friday-Sunday, location TBD) in the springtime, as well as occasional short trips (1-2 days) for organizational meetings in the DC area. Remote weekend work anticipated on Saturdays in January while Regional Competitions are taking place.
Educational background and/or equivalent work experience that provides the necessary skillset to fulfill job responsibilities.
