Positive Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Associate to support the President & CEO and Director of Operations in a fast-paced environment and help advance projects of The Tax Council (TTC) and the Tax Council Policy Institute (TCPI), the sister organization of TTC. This role provides essential administrative and project management support, ensuring smooth operations for all activities of both organizations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent organizational, time-management and writing skills, a keen interest in government affairs and tax and fiscal policy issues, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
Generate a curated and highly-regarded daily newsletter that provides relevant and timely updates to TTC members on current and pending tax policies or laws that could impact the way their companies do business.
Produce informative monthly newsletters that include well-written summaries of remarks made by key policymakers in government and business stakeholders at our events and excellent photos to keep members informed of important organization activities and member news.
Prepare meeting materials (e.g., attendee list, name tags, etc.) for our events annually including monthly legislative luncheons, the Annual Meeting, the Spring Legislative Conference, mini-conferences, virtual events and roundtable discussions.
Assist in implementation of membership development and outreach activities for The Tax Council including membership research, direct email and solicitation campaigns.
Support coordination, management, and execution of the Tax Council Policy Institute’s Annual Tax Policy & Practice Symposium.
Create social media and direct marketing campaigns to increase the visibility of both The Tax Council and the Tax Council Policy Institute and generate interest and awareness in the organizations’ events and activities.
Manage the social media platforms (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr) of The Tax Council and the Tax Council Policy Institute.
Update both organizations’ websites regularly.
Provide administrative support to the President & CEO and Director of Operations.
Assist with other tasks and projects, including research, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of similar work experience preferred.
Interest in nonprofit work, tax and fiscal policy issues, and knowledge about inner workings of Congress.
Strong writing, communication and analytical skills are a must.
Organized, highly-motivated and high attention to details.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desire to contribute to the organization and passion to learn.
Friendly and patient (good sense of humor a plus!).
Highly proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent command of Constant Contact, WordPress, Canva, social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Flickr).
The Tax Council is a non-profit, membership-based organization promoting sound tax and fiscal policies since 1966. We are based in Washington, DC – our nation’s capital. Our membership is comprised of (but not limited to) Fortune 500 companies, leading accounting and law firms, and major trade associations.
We provide a regular forum (luncheons and conferences) for our members to meet with key tax policy decision makers from the U.S. Congress to discuss important current tax issues; sponsor an annual three-day Spring Tax Policy Conference; and develop tax policy information and positions for public dissemination.
The Tax Council’s events provide excellent opportunities for our members to network and build stronger working relationships with government officials and colleagues in other businesses.
