The National Community Pharmacists Association, the Voice for the Community Pharmacist, is seeking qualified candidates for VP of Finance. The position provides leadership and oversight for all financial functions of the association and its affiliates and includes oversight and management of the outsourced IT provider and association operations. The VP of Finance reports to the association’s chief operating officer and is a member of the senior leadership team. The current operating budget totals $18 million for NCPA and its primary affiliate, the NCPA Innovation Center. The VP of Finance is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and administration of the organization’s financial policies and procedures, accounting methods and systems, budgets, financial analyses, internal and external reporting, tax returns, cash management, receipt and disbursement of funds, and system of internal controls including cyber security. Operations duties include oversight of the NCPA headquarters building and associated responsibilities including tenant management. Candidate will direct, supervise and coordinate the functions and activities of the Finance & Operations Department and interact with governance and all departments across the organization.
Hybrid work schedule, in office work Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday remote work Monday/Friday from Labor Day to Memorial Day. An ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or MBA preferred; 10 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting controls, processes and procedures in a tax-exempt environment is required. Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong supervisory skills; proven interpersonal skills; ability to work well under pressure and fit in within NCPA’s team environment; ability to implement new processes, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. This is a unique opportunity to play a key strategic role in the nation’s premier independent pharmacy organization.
