The Director of Communications and Marketing for the Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) will plan, direct and coordinate the communications and public relations activities for EWA, to include the drafting of member bulletins, press releases, advertising, and social media posts. The Director shall maintain media contact lists, promote special events participation, and collaborate with EWA staff leadership on PR/media opportunities. The Director will own the creation of marketing collateral for advertising, member events, and trade shows.
The Director will prepare and execute the logistics for EWA’s business meetings, member webinars, and conferences. The Director will be responsible for developing, producing, and implementing the program for EWA’s annual Wireless Leadership Summit, which includes management of the educational portion of the event, including topic selection and speaker selection and management, among other activities. They will prepare event collateral, including invitations, signage, and talking points. The Director may be requested to assist EWA’s Conference Director with facility selection, contract negotiations, and on-site logistics.
Requirements
Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or related field. At least five years’ experience in a similar role preferably within a technology-focused trade association. The Director must have advanced writing, editing, and organizational skills including strong experience writing press releases, marketing materials, annual reports, editorials, talking points, and speeches. Since the position primarily handles communications, candidate backgrounds should be similarly focused.
Minimum three days per week in the Herndon office.
