The National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Membership Assistant to join our team. Working closely with NACUA's Senior Director of Membership and Marketing, the Member Services Assistant acts as the main point of contact for all membership-related inquiries, maintains accurate membership records, and supports CLE credit processes. This position requires strong administrative skills, proficiency with membership databases, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Membership Administration:
Process membership applications, renewals, and cancellations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records in the member database.
Respond to member and non-member inquiries.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and one-off membership reports.
Conduct new member outreach via routine welcome messages.
Work with the finance department to regularly reconcile dues revenue.
Provide primary phone support for membership phone line.
Member Services:
Complete and send routine paperwork for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) applications and attendance reporting for programming.
Provide primary phone support for CLE phone line.
Provide support for committees and affinity groups, including meeting scheduling, materials preparation, and responding to inquiries.
Provide support for the sponsorship program, including invoicing, logistics assistance, and responding to inquiries.
Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
Represent the organization at in-person and virtual events and meetings as needed.
Administrative Support:
Provide back-up phone coverage for the main and virtual program assistance phone lines.
Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
JOB LOCATION This position requires residence near, or relocation to, the Washington, DC area. NACUA offers a hybrid schedule, which requires working in-office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please note that NACUA’s President & CEO retains discretion to amend this schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
1-3 years of professional experience, preferably within a membership association or administrative setting.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with CRM/AMS databases preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

NACUA's purpose is to enhance legal assistance to colleges and universities by educating attorneys and administrators as to the nature of campus legal issues.
