The Head of Community Partnerships develops and implements analytics?driven marketing and membership strategies and leads a team of marketing and membership engagement professionals. Their strategies raise visibility and revenue for CDISC initiatives and services while creating and strengthening relationships and reinforcing the value of CDISC membership. This leader works closely with other CDISC departments to ensure the overall CDISC membership experience is of the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have significant knowledge in the life sciences landscape so that they can effectively target potential members and communicate the CDISC business propositions and value offerings to key stakeholders. This leadership role provides strategic guidance and direction for revenue-focused, and member directed campaigns. Identifying and securing new revenue sources and expanding existing sources that position CDISC for mission success and growth is paramount for this leader.
Responsibilities:
Lead Marketing & Membership strategies -
Lead a team focused on ensuring member satisfaction, engagement and value through proactive and reactive member communication, consultation, recruitment, retention and renewal activities.
Train and supervise departmental leadership managing a high performing team. Periodically conduct a comprehensive evaluation of marketing and membership initiatives’ success against established goals.
Drive revenue for the organization using fiscally responsible practices -
Responsible for oversight of revenue operations to meet or exceed the organization’s annual revenue budget while meeting or reducing expenses.
Develop and implement the organization's Membership and Marketing strategy to complement its strategic plan and annual fundraising budget, with the intent to increase revenue goals annually.
Partner with Finance Team to identify aging accounts, then lead team to follow up with members accordingly.
Forecast revenue projections quarterly and provide monthly progress reports summarizing development activities.
Provide excellent member services and community engagement -
Strengthen membership recruitment efforts, developing a prospect pipeline using competitive intelligence of life sciences industry, CDISC events, and educational offerings to support member growth.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of CDISC offerings, resources and membership benefits.
Serve as the main point of contact for member relationships by building connections with a network of current and prospective members through prospecting via warm and cold communications.
Onboard new members, ensuring engagement with CDISC activities and programs.
Oversee membership CRM database management, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Assist at membership-related events as needed, such as booth management at both CDISC and external conferences.
Conduct membership and external stakeholder surveys, listening tours, focus groups and other activities to assess CDISC value, collect feedback and evolve current programs and tools.
Prepare regular membership reports and presentations for senior management.
Evaluate and improve membership policies and procedures.
Manage CDISC marketing, promotion, and branding -
Lead Marketing team to drive recognition of the CDISC brand among geographically dispersed members, volunteers, teams, and external partners.
Develop and manage membership marketing and communication campaigns.
Enhance CDISC’s messaging through public relations efforts and social media strategy.
Assure the value of CDISC’s mission, products, events, and services are consistently presented to all staff and stakeholders through building awareness of CDISC’s benefits to a broad community.
Partner with internal departments to raise their ability to support members and market the CDISC message
Publicly represent CDISC with the media and constituency groups to build enthusiasm for CDISC’s mission within external private and government organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in membership management, account management or related roles
Must have strong sales and recruitment skills.
Experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical and research industry.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Experience with customer relationship management tools.
Strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze data to drive improvements.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Must be able to communicate professionally both written and verbally.
Must be able to articulate CDISC standards to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must be able to travel 15%, domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in a second language other than English.
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful membership strategies.
5+ years leading Marketing Campaigns
Proficiency in budgeting and fiscal management.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong time-management abilities.
Driven and self-motivated to reach/exceed fundraising goals.
Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and association databases.
Physical Activities:
This position is primarily sedentary. Work will be conducted in a standard office environment, requiring the ability to operate office equipment like a keyboard. Must be able to lift 10 pounds and navigate short distances within the workplace and at events. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally by car, airplane, or other transit.
